It's over. Saturday is history!!! It didn't start out too bad, just went to bed at 3am, and got my butt out of bed at 6:30. Left the house at 7:25 to make it to our BOM "meeting". Half way there, my wife and I noticed we forgot our blocks from last month. Thats the thing, The whole quilt top will cost you $5 (for 12 blocks.) IF and thats a BIG IF you
a.) Pay $5 starting the 2nd weekend in June.
b.) Show up once a month on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of the month
c.) can drag your butt out of bed and be there by either 8:30 or 9:30 am.
It's no big deal, but you have to be alive enough to function that early! But alas, we managed to get to the 9:30 meeting (there are just under 400 people doing this BOM!!) even with our delays. Had a great breakfast ala Big Mike at Big Mike's Diner, managed to find some handmade chocolate goodies before we traveled back home to passout for the afternoon. I'm happy to report, my BOM is done. Enjoy the eye candy.
Wonderful BOM. I always thought it would be fun to join one, but knowing you have to show up on a certain day each month was a little to stressful. That would be a bummer if my quilt top cost me more then $5.00 in the end. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI missed the start of the BOM so this quilt top will end up costing me $10. They even throw in a 'Get out of jail free" card so you can skip one if needed.
ReplyDeleteVery nice BOM Greg. Like the fabric choices. I spent years starting 12 hour days at 3.30am....am a night owl..hate getting up early. Well done for getting there.
